Have you every heard of Farinon radios? Here are some pictures of a Farinon UHF radio rack. Is anything in this rack useful to an amateur radio operator? If not, it looks like there is some gold in them there radios. Who knows what we'll find inside that dual power supply!

Yes, I once owned a Farinon VHF transmitter + receiver around 1973. It had previously seen ham radio service as a 100 watt mountain top repeater in Central California. It was likely 1960s era, mostly tube, rack mounted, and very rugged.

ReplyDeleteVery rugged eqpt. I found one in service on top of Mokey Mtn, Danang RVN in 1971.
ReplyDeleteI worked part time for the company from 1959-1963 while I was in college. My best employer ever until I became self employed.
